Miss you already  / Fredrik Vold (Online Friend )
I already miss you, Kevin.
I think I always will.

There are a lot of a-holes online, and especially on IRC, but it's the intelligent, friendly, kind and gentle people like Ka-Bar that keeps us all coming back day after day anyway.

I guess this is your final netsplit, huh?

Rest in peace, Ka-Bar!
You will be missed, and never forgotten. Close

Wow!  I am so shocked to hear of Kevin's passing!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kevin's family and all of his many friends.  May all of you find peace and solace in the memories you carry within yourself of Kevin and joyful times we all spent with him. Close

Everything I could say has already been covered here, but for what it's worth, Kevin, we'll all miss you heaps, and God bless you, and stuff.

I'm still coming to grips with it myself, so I can't even begin to imagine how the family is feeling.

Connor, Briana, and Malinda: My thoughts are with you.

He was very friendly and easy-going. I only knew him on IRC. Close

In addition to the comments others have made about Kevin's knowledge & sense of humor, in the short time I knew him, Kevin was always interested and as involved as possible in his children's (and grandchildren's) lives. Close

Kevin always had fun reminiscing about the Old Days of computerdom. He was fun to work with and gladly shared his knowledge and helped others. His work on OpenAFS was noted here today: https://lists.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-info/2008-April/029076.html But most importantly, my condolences to his wife and children, who knew him in much more important ways than I did at work. I don't know why what happened happened. I have a hard time understanding it, to be honest. I've known him on-line for almost 10 years or so, and I would say that we had a very professional relationship. It really did come as a shock to me, as I'm sure it to everyone. I know personally, he didn't show any signs of anything going on in his life, however, I didn't get the chance to meet him in person to share moments like most of you have, but I still feel the same heartbreak and pain. Kevin, you will surely be missed. Close

Memories of Kevin  / Peter Looyenga (colleague)
I didn't know Kevin, who I know better as Ka-bar on IRC, as well as others do but the moments I did chat with him I noticed him to be a very nice and warm guy. He's the sort of guy you take for granted and when he's gone only then do you realize that you sorely miss him. I hope, where you are now, you'll finally be at peace. On that great IRC server in the sky :( --- Peter Looyenga, The Netherlands - AKA Lion-O Close
